2014

I'm pretty sure half of the world has already forgotten about it's resolutions for the New Year, but so far mine are integrating very well.

1. I want to live a more streamlined, clutter free life- Now, this seems like a big one. But it's pretty simple. Less...stuff. Less TV, Less clutter filling up my space, less spending on things that are wasteful, less time spent on my computer, less negative thinking & overall mental clutter.

2. I will keep myself in good health- I'm not promising to work out everyday, or saying I can eat less than 500 calories everyday...because that's just not reality. I vow that this will be a year I take care of myself, including going to bed at a more human bedtime versus my usual vampire insomnia.

3. Despite your fear, go for it- Everyone gets afraid of things, but sometimes that thrill of fear is really an anxious excitement. It's a new year, and the worst thing that could happen is getting to this day next year and realizing you didn't make anything of it.

Halloween 2013

Ahh, it's fall again! Scarves, beanies, sweaters, & my favorite...BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS!

There's one thing that always marks the beginning of fall to me, so here it is!

It's been a hot minute, but now that I've gotten Twitter down a little bit better, and am semi caught up on facebook. I think I can go back to having 3 websites to run. Hey, maybe I'll even open up an Etsy store for some of my awesome finds and crafts I make. Thoughts on that? Would people be interested in that? ox, Ayla K.

Cream Cheese Wontons

It was one of those nights. My mom said she wanted to make steak & broccoli stir fry since we recently got a wok again. I was on the appetizer, and made cream cheese wontons!

Neufchatel cheese, (1/3 less fat than cream cheese, but essentially the same, just a little more creamy so it holds up to the quick fry.) green onions, a little chili powder, wrap the triangle up with a little water on the edges, and press them down with a fork. Drop them into oil for a minute, flip em, and pull em before you burn them!! So delicious.

Apple Bake!

I had some family over for the Make it or Break it premiere this past Monday! Here are some pics from the Apple Bake I made.

I made some dough, halved an apple, filled it some sugar, raisins, and a little butter, wrapped the half in the dough, brushed it with egg and did some cinnamon & sugar on top. Then some vanilla ice cream, and I made a cider caramel from apple cider, water, sugar, and cinnamon. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!



Oh...and my puppies. My girl dog is the black one, Kokomo after the Beach Boys song. And the boy is redish, his name is Freak (short for Afrika which is a mix between where they are from Africa and him being such a goon dog.)

Wardrobe slump

I feel like I'm getting into a wardrobe slump. Yoga pants, vintage tee, and a fleece...almost everyday. I put an amazing skirt on this weekend...but I need something more.

I need...INSPIRATION!

Which means I get to look at lookbooks online!

I'm a complete and hopeless Etsy addictttt! I love looking at random and weird too much not to be.

Summer '11

Is going well so far. It's a bright sunny day, Teen Choice Awards are on Sunday, and I have pineapple rings galore.

Illegal Whaling.

I don't understand how the Japanese don't understand the concept of 1. extinction and 2. a healthy functioning WORLD ecosystem. In which we rely on the ocean and every animal in that ocean. The world is a balance in which they are off-setting. No whales, no ocean, no humans. So be just a little less selfish Japan. Outlaw whaling! This isn't just extinction of a species- this is the extinction of the world as we know it. I don't have to tell you they are whaling species they aren't supposed to, in whale sanctuaries, in much larger numbers then they are supposed to. The Sea Shepherds have a show because they have nothing to hide, they are doing nothing wrong, just what the UN won't seem to enforce. The Japanese are the ones hiding it because they are breaking INTERNATIONAL laws. Where is the UN? It's difficult to want to do things peacefully, when clearly it doesn't work. I hate violence, but something has to be done before another species disappears forever.

Yes, MBW, you are a thief. I'm all for interpertations on art, but don't just make a stencil that copies almost exactly Banksy's style. Yes, Banksy has style. Mr. Brainwash has cut, copy, paste, print, spray.

But just like in "Exit Through the Gift Shop", I guess the joke is on you if there is a joke. And if you can do it, anyone can I guess.

Street art is it's own world. Stay special and unique, world.

Thank goodness it's Friday.

It's been a good busy week.
Got a lot done, it feels like.

One really neat thing I got to do was draw a doodle that will be auctioned off.
It's for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
I felt very "high class" drawing something to benefit the Orchestra.
So I drew an octopus with 3D glasses to bring it back to reality.


I named it 8D.
And I don't claim to be an artist of all that is pen.
It's just fun.

New Year.

I know that New Years happens every year, but it still feels like a fresh start.

My resolutions are to:

1.Just be me, but better.
2.Never let anything go unfinished for more than a week.
3. To celebrate everyone else's success, no matter how big or small. Especially when I think they aren't deserving. Which can be hard sometimes.

Also, today is my dad's birthday. Happy birthday, pop-pop! I love you!

I hope everyone had a great New Years. It's 1.1.11. Let's get started.
